Green tea is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis shrub; however, these leaves do not go through the same withering and oxidation process as black or oolong tea. With green tea production the leaves are harvested and quickly heated, usually by pan firing or steaming, and then dried to prevent too much oxidation from occurring. This eventually turns the green leaves brown and slightly alters the flavor.
The green tea flavor profile can range from vegetal, sweet and earthy to toasted and grass-like with hints of nuts. We take the smooth and mellow taste of green tea and put our own unique spin on it.
